Over 48 years has now passed since Bob Banks and Ronnie
Derbyshire started their car body repair business. From its
humble beginnings in Lea Town on the outskirts of Preston, Banks
and Derbyshire has come long way to what we know today. The
slightly older generations will remember Bob Banks travelling
through the streets of Preston demonstrating his craft during
one of Preston's famous Guilds.
Once established, Banks and Derbyshire as it was now known as,
quickly moved to a more central location on Bold Street very
near to the present
location on Parker Street. As the business grew and grew another
move was on the cards, this time to Campbell Street off
Ribbleton Lane. By this time Banks and Derbyshire had firmly
established themselves as the premier car repairers in the North
West.
Bob Banks and Ronnie Derbyshire finally sold the company to its
present owners Stuart McDonald and David Parkinson. Stuart and
Dave have certainly carried on the tradition first crafted by
Bob and Ronnie. By moving to a new location in Parker Street,
Banks and Derbyshire is now equipped with the latest technology
to provide the customer with a completely professional service.
What would Bob and Ronnie think now?
